As soon as the El Golfo story appears in the American press, I will take down the spanish blog and only keep this blog up. I hope you are still not considering investing in Sonora real estate! there is only one question you should ask yourself if you are seriously considering investing in Sonora: Is it worth it>?

This video does not really exist. It was probably made by Pixar Studios out of Hollywood. It depicts a “Virtual Eviction” carried out by the state prosecutor.
Again, this video is a fantasy, it, did not really happen, fiction, totally fabricated because, according the the squatter’s personal testimony in the criminal proceedings at the San Luis court house, she was NEVER evicted and especially not on March 23, 2007 as half a billion people can attest to. Listen to the MACHO Man in the burgundy shirt that arrives demanding to speak with the person carring out the ILLEGAL eviction. He is one of the 2 brave men that threatened us with the use of machetes if we didn’t get of “their” lands!!

There have been MAJOR new developments in our search for justice! Because the opposition lawyers have not been “officially” served with the judge’s resolution, I will not publish the court documents yet. However, I can share with you that last week, the judge overseeing the penal case, has ruled in our favor to return approximately 75% of our land (beach side). The remaining 25% of the land will need to be returned through other means (just a matter of time).
As soon as I have confirmation of the proper formal service on the lawyers, I will post the court’s rulings that everybody can see that justice does rear its head in Sonora! After three and a half years and close to $300,000 invested in the legal fight alone, we are very close to re-taking possession of our lands!
We are still waiting for the same judges ruling on the guilt or innocence of the defendants, how much jail time they will get if any and how much of the nearly $300K they will have to reimburse to me. This amount does not even begin to cover the lost earnings because of their violent criminal act against us. That will come with civil litigation at a later time. They seem to believe that their machetes and Molotov cocktails still carry clout and are still refusing to acknowledge that they do not OWN our property!
On Dec 4th, 2008, we will meet again at the agrarian court where they received a stunning blow to their case when the agrarian judge ruled that they were NOT the owners of our land, that in fact the property in question was PRIVATE PROPERTY subject to jurisdiction of the laws of Sonora and NOT jurisdiction of the federal agrarian court. The criminals received an “amparo” forcing the agrarian court to revisit the case because of some non-existent evidence. We shall finally have our day in court; again!
The fight continues!
